What is CNC Machining?
CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process that typically employs computerized controls and machine tools to remove layers of material from a stock piece—known as the blank or workpiece—and produces a custom-designed part. This process is suitable for a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, wood, glass, foam, and composites, and finds application in a variety of industries, such as large CNC machining, machining of parts and prototypes for telecommunications, CNC machining aerospace parts, CNC machining motorcycle parts and automotive parts, which require tighter tolerances than other industries.
At Step Rapid, our precision CNC machining services make complex finished parts and components, as well as tools for plastic injection molding or pressure die casting. CNC machine cutting tools come in many specialized types to perform all kinds of operations on the raw stock. However, CNC mills are the most common and versatile multi-axis machines that we use.
CNC machining prototype parts
CNC machining is versatile for producing prototype parts in engineering plastics, metals, and alloys materials, such as ABS, HDPE, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Titanium and others . it produces in quick and cost-effective ways, in terms of controlling geometric tolerance, CNC machining is more accurate compared to other processes, like 3D printing and Vacuum casting, thus, it can be a great choice for functional prototypes and its benefit for product development.
Generally speaking, we will support CNC machined parts by other processes if move into batch production, like series CNC machine invested, or casting options. so currently CNC machining is used for low-volume manufacturing, and high-volume can be handled by other production tool ways. and no obstacles for meeting customer demand.
if you plan for some design parts and are unsure what process would be ideal in terms of machined parts cost and quality, pls feel free to ask us for comments and advice, we have been delivering multiple solutions for those new start-up companies and advise what would be the best fit for their projects.

Why choose our CNC machining services?
At Step Rapid, obviously gives you the highest precision of CNC technologies and incredible efficiency for low-volume production. the components that you need we can deliver as short as 5 days with proceeding strict quality control, whether they involve standard fabrications or complex geometries with tight tolerances.
We also provide various finish services to make your prototypes and production pieces look perfect, including polishing, custom coating, anodizing, and other finishing options are available. also can apply machined surface If your components have nothing to do with the overall look of the assembly, Want to speed up the manufacturing of your prototypes or parts? contact the Step Rapid’s sales team for a machining quote and get started.
We have a full line of 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers equipped with automation to handle both small and large volume runs. Components are produced with standard tolerances of +/-0.005”. Tighter tolerances may be specified but may affect pricing and delivery. Secondary operations such as tapping, marking, and surface treatments are available upon request for an additional charge.
Advantages Of CNC Machining Services
The CNC machining method has many advantages, one of them is to work so well with various materials. These include mild and stainless steels, brass, titanium, aluminum, and other metals. In addition, rigid engineering plastics can be machined, as well as carbon fiber. All of these options give you even more design freedom.
No matter what material you use, you need absolute confidence that it conforms to your specifications and regulatory requirements.CNC machining offers many advantages for product developers, including

StepRapid CNC Machining Service FAQ
What is CNC machining?
CNC machining is used to produce incredibly accurate, high-quality parts with an excellent finish.
The CNC services we offer mean prototype tools can be injected in-house and producton tool can be run by our subcontractors or supplied to you for moulding. We can also provide a full range of tool refurbishment.
Why choose CNC machining?
CNC machining is fast, accurate, and versatile. No other manufacturing solution produces end-use parts in any volume without the need to invest in hard tooling or expensive set-ups.
What material is used for CNC parts?
Numerous types of metal and plastic material can be machined using CNC machining.We keep a stock of commonly used materials in-house, including;
Aluminium alloy 6082
Stainless steel,AlSl grade 304.
Stainless steel,AlSl grade 316
Acetal (Delrin)
Acrylic(PMMA)
Other materials are available quickly from our suppliers including a large array of different engineering plastics
What service levels are available for CNC parts?
We offer three service levels for CNC machining:
. Express: 3 working days- subject to criteria
Standard:7 working days
Economy:12 working days
What finishes can be applied to my CNC parts?
The standard finish we offer on CNC parts is as machined. This simply involves removing all sharp edges but leavin patternsleft by the tool as it has removed the material. can remove these machining marks by scotchbiting or sand blasting the part at your request. Parts can also be plated, anodised or even painted once machined
What is the maximum part size that you can CNC machine?
We have an array of dfferent machines that all offer different bed szes. Howeve, our largest bed sze is 800mm*500mm, meaning we can’t machine any part bigger than this in-house.
Can you modify existing parts?
Yes we can modify free issued parts depending on your exact requirements and part geometry.
Can l free issue material for quotation/production?
Yes we can machine free issue material. Again this is dependent on part geometry and material but please feel free to discuss with us : sales@www.steprapid.com.
Step Rapid’s Machining Projects
Aluminum Stem For Bicycle Made With Precision CNC Machining
The stem is the component on a bicycle that connects the handlebars to the steerer tube of the bicycle fork, However, the stem has a significant effect on your bike’s geometry and, as a result, the handling and your ride position. From its length to angle, there are a lot to consider with the material used and compatibility to the handlebar and steerer tube.
Case of Complex Part That Needs 5-Axis Machining
5-axis CNC machining is a manufacturing process that uses computer numerical control (CNC) technology to control the movements of five axes simultaneously. This enables the production of complex parts with high precision and accuracy.
We have been offering services for CNC machining simple parts to complex ones by working closely with customers. keep pushing the limit to meet your requirement.
